Deepak Chopra is fascinated with the future...and asked Tim to be a part of his and direct a sizzle for “Dinner with Deepak”. Tim perfected a shooting style (which Piro has since used in other productions) of hiding cameras in plain site, using only available lighting and wireless lav microphones to create an intimate environment that enables participants to forget about the recording devices and encourages open, honest and raw dialogue. Due to technological advancements in recent years, namely DSLR technology, this kind of shooting truly opens up the possibilities to get away from typical “sound bytes” and closer to more real conversations. Syfy bought the project and asked Tim to shoot and Executive Produce the pilot.
